The toppers come with a 1/2 inch lip that sits into the crate to prevent it from sliding off.

I love this kennel topper! Helps my dog's kennel blend in a little in my living room. I was not able to use it right away because the stain smell was so strong that I didn't want my dog inhaling that all day while I was away at work. But the kennel topper aired out nicely in my spare room. This was a great purchase!
Highly recommend! This crate topper is real craftsmanship and it is beautiful. Sturdy, well packaged, and exactly what we needed. We wanted the protective lip around the crate because our cat loves relaxing up there. I'm certain it will not slide.
