Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Our picture frames are crafted from real wood and made with an emphasis on quality, durability, and traditional craftsmanship. Unlike many mass-produced frames made from plastic or composite materials, our wood frames offer the natural character, strength, and beauty of genuine wood.
Yes. Our frames are handcrafted by skilled artisans using techniques developed through generations of frame making. Many of our finishes include hand-applied details such as antiquing, distressing, painting, and leafing, giving each frame its own unique character.
Our frames are manufactured in our own frame factory by skilled craftsmen in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. As a family-owned frame manufacturer with more than 45 years of experience, we oversee the process from raw moulding through finishing and final assembly.
A closed-corner frame is assembled before the final finish is applied. This allows the corners and joints to be finished by hand, creating a more seamless appearance than frames made from pre-finished moulding that is simply cut and joined at the corners. Closed-corner construction is commonly associated with higher-end and traditional custom framing.
Because our frames are made from real wood and many finishes are applied by hand, slight variations in wood grain, color, antiquing, distressing, leafing, and other details are normal. These variations are part of the character of a handmade frame and make each piece unique.

Yes. We can manufacture many oversized and specialty frames that aren't commonly available in standard retail sizes. For particularly large projects, contact us with the dimensions of your artwork or opening and we'll help determine the best framing options.
Measure the actual artwork, photograph, print, or item you would like to frame—not the outside dimensions of an existing frame. For example, if your artwork measures 16" × 20", you would typically select a frame designed for a 16" × 20" piece. If you're unsure how to measure your piece, contact us before ordering and we'll be happy to help.
Yes. In most cases, we manufacture the frame to the dimensions you provide and ship it directly to you. You can then install your photograph, artwork, diploma, or print into the frame. This makes it possible to order professional-quality custom framing without having to ship your valuable artwork to us.
Our frames can be used for many types of artwork and keepsakes, including photographs, fine-art prints, canvas and artwork, diplomas and certificates, posters, limited-edition prints, family portraits, wedding photographs, and professional photography. For unusual or specialty items, contact us to discuss the project.
Yes. Conservation materials are available for customers who want additional protection for photographs, artwork, diplomas, and other important pieces. Depending on the product, options may include conservation-grade acrylic, acid-free matting, and acid-free backing materials.
Conservation acrylic is a premium glazing material designed to help protect artwork and photographs from harmful ultraviolet light while providing the safety and lighter weight of acrylic. It is an excellent option for valuable photographs, artwork, diplomas, and larger frames where traditional glass may be too heavy or fragile.
For many large frames, acrylic is an excellent choice because it is significantly lighter and more impact-resistant than traditional glass. This can make large frames safer and easier to handle, hang, and ship. Premium conservation acrylic can also provide UV protection for artwork and photographs.
Yes. Matting is available for many of our frames and can give photographs, artwork, and diplomas a more finished, gallery-style appearance. We offer a variety of mat colors so you can coordinate the mat with your artwork, frame finish, or décor.
We offer conservation-quality matting designed to help protect artwork and photographs. Acid-free materials are especially important when framing valuable, sentimental, or archival pieces because they help reduce deterioration and discoloration over time.
Most of our frames include the appropriate hanging hardware or provisions for hanging. Because installation requirements can vary depending on frame size, weight, and wall construction, larger frames may require additional or specialized wall hardware. Always make sure the hardware used on your wall is properly rated for the finished weight of the frame.
Because our frames are made and finished to order, standard production time is 6 to 7 business days. Production times may vary slightly based on frame style, size, and finish. Please contact us before ordering if you have a tight deadline.
We carefully package our frames to help protect them throughout transit. Larger and more ornate frames may require additional protective packaging because of their size and detailed finishes. If your order arrives with shipping damage, please contact us promptly and provide photographs of the frame and packaging so we can assist you.
